About Us
Rob Massey, Jr., CPM, graduated from the University of Louisville in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce Degree and an Associate Degree in Real Estate. Shortly thereafter he began working for his father’s firm which was founded in 1956. Involved in property management of apartment complexes, smaller apartment buildings, rental houses, commercial buildings, and the sales of each, he subsequently began focusing on managing houses for rent.
In 1999, he started an Internet listing service known as RentalHouses.com which he created for the purpose of marketing houses for rent online. Initially he focused on growing the business in Louisville; but eventually with a boost from investor funding he helped build the company to become one of the main resources for advertising houses for rent on the Internet across the nation.
Since founding RentalHouses.com in 1999, Rob has been at the forefront of the explosive growth of online marketing and its opportunities for residential rental properties. He has been featured and/or quoted in the Louisville Courier-Journal Newspaper, Business First of Louisville, New York City-based Professional Apartment Management Newsletter, Business Week, and is a regular contributor to the National Association of Residential Property Manager’s Residential Resource magazine. He has also written numerous articles for RisMedia’s Real Estate Magazine. Rob has served on speaking panels at Inman’s Real Estate Connect in New York City and in San Francisco.
Primedia bought RentalHouses.com in January of 2007 and Rob served in the capacity of Vice President of Industry Relations for Primedia-owned Rentals.com for one year. Currently, he serves as a part-time consultant for Rentals.com, focusing his efforts on industry and association relations for the company. He also oversees his property management company and sits on the Board of Directors of AnnounceMyMove LLC, a company which provides a viral marketing tool to Realtors nationwide.
Rob is past president of the Louisville chapter of the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM), past president of the Institute of Real Estate Management’s (IREM) KY Chapter #59, and past president of the Louisville Apartment Association. He continues to teach property management classes to NARPM Chapters across the country.
He is the proud father of three adult children and has seven grand-children.
