Robert (Rob) Massey, Jr., CPM, RMP » President and Owner
A Business School graduate from the University of Louisville, Rob grew up surrounded by his father’s real estate business. His early involvement started by cutting grass at company managed properties, then he worked in maintenance at company managed properties followed by serving as a bookkeeper for the company. After graduating from college he obtained his real estate license and became a full-time property manager for the firm. He also became involved in real estate brokerage at that time.
While gaining years of experience in the business, Rob became involved in the various real estate property management associations ultimately serving as President of each: Kentucky Chapter #59 of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), the Louisville Apartment Association, and the Louisville Chapter of National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM).
Rob acquired a one-half interest in the company back in the early 1990’s and completed his full acquisition of the company a few years ago.
In the early 2000’s, while scaling back his property management business, Rob started RentalHouses.com, an Internet Listing Service, which grew to be a national internet tool for advertising and locating rental houses across the nation. He originally developed the concept to better serve his own clients since the newspaper was the only means for advertising smaller-unit apartment buildings and single family homes at the time. RentalHouses.com was sold in 2007 to Primedia, Inc. (NYSE symbol PRM) and Rob was retained as a consultant by Primedia until 2011 when that division of the business was sold again to another company.
While helping grow RentalHouses.com, the business required that Rob travel all over the country speaking with and selling to the most successful property managers across the U.S. allowing him to gain knowledge about the best practices and tools in the industry along the way. In 2011, Rob was able to return full-time to his then scaled-back business and to begin assisting with re-building it with all of his newly acquired knowledge from his travels. Today, using the latest technological tools available to property managers, Rob oversees his re-growing property management business with the help of his highly trained and experienced staff.

Currently serves as mentor and consultant to the company. His many years of involvement in the real estate industry included numerous accomplishments with the most noteworthy being his election as President of each, the Greater Louisville Association of Realtors, the Kentucky Association of Realtors, and Kentucky Chapter #59 of the Institute of Real Estate Management. Bob was appointed to the Kentucky Real Estate Commission by three governors. He was also a recipient of the “Wall of Honor” award for his lifetime outstanding service to the Greater Louisville Association of Realtors.
Teri Hall » Director of Operations & General Manager
Early in her work career Teri worked for five years as a legal assistant in a large local law firm where she gained a great deal of knowledge about contracts and a wide assortment of legal documents. Next, she went to work for a family construction business overseeing operations and company personnel where she rose to the position of General Manager during her 20-year tenure. While there, she negotiated and was instrumental in acquiring another business to supplement revenue during slow periods of the year. Over the period that she ran the company, it grew from one to five construction crews resulting in a dramatic increase in net revenue.
In 2005, Teri joined Robert Massey Company and was promoted to General Manager after a short period. Her skills were quickly put to use in overseeing the daily operations and all aspects of the business. Teri has great industry knowledge, organizational skills, a strong commitment to excellence, a great sense of urgency and provides much attention to detail. She has earned the respect of clients, residents, merchants, vendors and colleagues alike, which makes her one of our most highly valued assets.

Karen Stephens » Director of Property Management
Karen has been in the real estate industry since 1997. Prior to working in property management she developed her skills in residential home building while working with a large national home builder in the Louisville market. During this period of her career she gained experience working closely with vendors, subcontractors, home buyers and investors. In 1980 she was promoted to the position of a regional administrator and moved to Atlanta to over the administration of 13 offices in the Southeast Region of her company. In 1996 she moved back to Louisville where she worked with a local homebuilder until obtaining her Kentucky real estate license in 2005 and launching her career in property management. She is an active member of the National Association of Residential Property Managers and oversees multi-unit and single-family properties in Louisville, Shepherdsville, Mt. Washington, Radcliff and Vine Grove markets. Karen has been a great asset to our company since joining our team in 2009.
Irene M. Gagne » Director of Process Management
Irene joined the Robert Massey Company in June 2019 as Director of Process Management. She has an extensive background in Project Management, Leadership Development, and solutions to current challenges. Applying high-impact strategies that optimize cash flow. She graduated with a B.S. from Oglethorpe University. Irene has had a diverse background that includes many types of industries including Property Management.
Beth Hanke » Property Manager
Born and raised in Southern Indiana, Beth graduated from Purdue University where she earned a degree in elementary and special education. She spent eight years teaching fifth and sixth grades before joining Robert Massey Company. Her years of teaching provided organizational and people skills which she utilizes in daily interactions in both our Louisville and Radcliff offices. Beth is well trained in property management operations including tenant screening, leasing and our property management software. We are pleased to have someone of her caliber.
Christi Fowler » Property Manager
Born and raised in Louisville, Christi lived for 15 years in Evansville, Indiana working for a car dealership handling payroll, accounts payable, employee benefits and many other administrative aspects relating to a car dealership. She also has experience handling employee evaluations and other Human Resource functions. She is a great team player and is highly skilled in client and customer relations. Her organizational skills and efficiency in her work are very impressive. We were fortunate to have found her. She started with Robert Massey Company in April of 2017.
Holly Law » Maintenance Coordinator
Holly obtained an Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies and started her career working a Paralegal and Legal Secretary. She worked in several law offices in the practice of medical malpractice, divorce and real estate. After her second child was born she left the legal field and began working in property management primarily focusing on coordinating maintenance work at rental properties. Holly began working at Robert Massey Company in August of 2016, where she continues to fulfill the role as Maintenance Coordinator. She most enjoys working with both residents and owners in the upkeep of their rental properties.
April Hernandez » Leasing Agent
Raised in Kentucky, but a Louisvillian for the past seven years, April is the newest member to join our team. She brings several years of experience in leasing, marketing, operations and management from a large multifamily property. Prior to property management, April held positions in management for a local transportation and logistics company. Her experience there provided the skill set to be efficient and task-oriented, and the willingness to be a leader. She graduated from Eminence Independent School and attended the University of Kentucky.
Doug Miller » Maintenance Technician
Doug came to us after years of owning and operating his own apartment make-ready and janitorial service company. He also had previously worked in maintenance and repairs for two national property management companies at communities located in Texas and Illinois. His diverse background, dependability and knowledge in the field have proven to be a great asset to Robert Massey Company.
Ron Silvers » Maintenance Assistant
Ron retired from General Electric after a long stint of providing dependable, quality work. He handles company janitorial tasks, grounds and light maintenance. He is very dependable and thorough in his work. We are pleased to have him assist us on a part-time basis.
Paul Justice » Painting Specialist
Paul handles the great majority of painting needs within the business. His high-quality, efficient work is not easily found within the painting industry. We are very fortunate to have such a dependable and skilled employee.
Scott Farley » Maintenance Technician
Owner of Creative Cabinetry Plus, LLC, Scott Farley has more than 40 years’ experience in the construction and custom cabinetry business. Prior to working for Robert Massey Company he was employed for 30 years by a large hospital corporation where he built and maintained custom cabinets and also performed finish carpentry and general maintenance. While there he was responsible for large renovation projects and completed classes and obtained certifications in safety and infection control. Scott obtained an Associate Degree from Indiana Vocational and Technical College. We are fortunate to have him as an employee.
James L. Johnson » Maintenance Technician
Jimmy graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Economics Degree. Continuing his education he obtained a Master’s Degree in Religious Education from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville. His previous work experience includes working on construction crews at Southwest Seminary, handling repairs and maintenance of school properties, managing property lived-in by missionaries, working as a cabinet installer, appraising residential property, and currently also working at a Lowe’s Store as a Department Manager of Electrical Supplies and Millwork, Tool World and Installed Sales. He joined our company in July of 2017.
